Product: LARA Assistant – Alexa Skill for well-being verification with voice automation and alerts.
These Terms govern the use of the LARA Assistant / Well-Being Check-In Skill, designed to monitor the user’s well-being through automated questions via Amazon Alexa and analysis of the responses provided by the monitored person.
The system may send alerts to caregivers via:
Voice Monkey announcements
WhatsApp Cloud API
Automatic email
Internal database logging
The Skill and its backend operate as a complementary tool to support human care.
The Skill is not:
a medical, psychological, or nursing service;
an emergency, urgent care, or 24/7 monitoring service;
a substitute for human, family, or professional supervision.
It is a digital support system that:
sends automated questions at scheduled times,
logs responses,
recognizes voice commands (“I’m fine”, “I need help”, etc.),
sends alerts to the designated caregiver in cases of:
lack of response,
negative response,
explicit request for help,
emergency situations.
However, it does not guarantee:
delivery of notifications,
uninterrupted operation,
precise detection of all responses,
correct interpretation of speech in all circumstances,
continuous availability of Amazon services.
The system depends on:
Working microphone
Stable internet connection
Proper voice permissions
Active subscription to Amazon services
The Skill uses direct integrations:
| System | Function |
|---|---|
| AWS DynamoDB | Storage of users, check-ins, logs, and TTLs |
| AWS Lambda | Processing check-ins, analyzing responses, and periodic routines |
| Voice Monkey | Sending voice announcements |
| WhatsApp Cloud API (Meta) | Sending alerts to the caregiver |
| PHP Server (novais-ai.com) | Processing and sending alert emails |
| Timezones and cron scheduling | Sending questions and retries |
Full operation also depends on:
electrical power,
functioning Wi-Fi,
proper integration of tokens, keys, and permissions.
The user agrees to:
Properly configure the Alexa Skill, Echo device, and registration on the platform.
Provide accurate emergency contact information.
Maintain active internet and power at the monitored location.
Use the Skill as a support tool, not a replacement for supervision.
Periodically verify that the system is functioning properly.
The Company commits to:
operating the system using good technical practices;
maintaining logs and records in compliance with LGPD and applicable laws;
providing support via email;
offering secure AWS infrastructure.
The Company is not responsible for:
failures in network, power, Alexa, microphone, Wi-Fi, Voice Monkey, WhatsApp, or AWS;
delays or failures in alert delivery;
incorrect speech interpretation by Alexa;
environmental conditions that hinder voice detection;
lack of response from the monitored user;
misuse, misconfiguration, or negligence;
direct or indirect damages, material, moral, emergency-related, or fatal.
The Skill does not replace human supervision.
In real emergencies, the monitored person or caregiver must immediately contact the appropriate emergency services.
During use, the system may collect:
Alexa user ID and internal system ID;
Interaction logs (questions, responses, timestamps);
Response status (“positive”, “attention”, “help”, “emergency”);
Local time and user timezone;
Device technical data (no voice recordings);
Alert status (sent / not sent);
Caregiver’s phone number and email.
The system does not collect:
voice recordings,
sensitive medical data,
GPS location,
financial information.
The system implements:
first retry at 5 minutes,
second retry at 10 minutes,
WhatsApp alert to the caregiver,
automatic email,
log registration in DynamoDB.
These alerts depend on external services and are not guaranteed.
Data:
may be deleted upon request,
is retained only while the user keeps the Skill active,
logs have automatic TTL expiration (configured in Lambda).
The Skill may be updated, modified, or deactivated at any time. Continued use implies automatic acceptance of the latest updates.
For users in Brazil:

For contractual purposes:
Governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil and the State of Wyoming (USA).
