Welcome to the LARA Assistant Beta Testing Program

Thank you for joining the beta phase of LARA, our well-being check-in system powered by Amazon Alexa.

This stage is essential to ensure that the technology works in a simple, safe, and efficient way in the daily routine of real users.

🎯 1. Purpose of the Beta Test

The goal of the beta test is to identify whether:

✔️ LARA can successfully deliver automatic check-in questions
✔️ The user can respond without difficulty
✔️ Notifications are correctly delivered to the designated monitor
✔️ The web dashboard works properly for monitoring
✔️ The experience feels simple for both seniors and family members
✔️ The integration with Alexa and VoiceMonkey works flawlessly

You are helping us refine the final details before the official launch.

💻 2. Minimum Requirements

To participate, you will need:

For the Monitored Person (senior):

✔️ An Amazon Echo device (any model)
✔️ An active Amazon account
✔️ A working Wi-Fi connection
✔️ A smartphone (Android or iPhone) with the Alexa app installed
✔️ Ability to hear and answer simple questions (“are you okay?”)

For the Monitor (family member/caregiver):

✔️ Access to the LARA dashboard (web panel)
✔️ Basic ability to follow the setup instructions
✔️ Active WhatsApp to receive alerts
✔️ A valid email address

👵 3. Instructions for the Monitored Person (the user who will be monitored)

Explain to the monitored person that:

LARA will ask questions such as:

“Ciloca, is everything okay over there?”
“How are you feeling right now?”
“Is everything all right?”

To respond, they simply need to say:

“Alexa, open LARA Assistant”

And then answer normally:

“I’m fine”
“I’m not well”
“So-so”

Alexa will reply and record the response.

If LARA detects that something may be wrong:

The designated family member will be notified via WhatsApp or email.

It is completely safe — it does not record audio; it only interprets voice commands.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 4. Instructions for the Monitor (responsible family member)

As the monitor, you will:

Step 1 — Install the Skill

Open the Alexa app
Go to Skills & Games
Search for: “LARA Assistente” (beta version)
Tap Enable

Step 2 — Complete the Registration

After enabling the skill, Alexa will display a card with a short link:

novais-ai.com/cadastro/XXXXX

Visit this link and fill in:

  • Basic information about the monitored person

  • Monitoring schedule

  • Emergency contact

  • Required permissions

Step 3 — Set Up Voice Monkey

Still on the web page:

  • Follow the video tutorial

  • Create a device inside VoiceMonkey

  • Copy the token

  • Paste it into the LARA dashboard

This allows the Echo device of the monitored person to receive LARA’s check-in questions.

Step 4 — Monitor

In the web dashboard you can view:

  • Latest responses

  • Scheduled check-in times

  • Alerts that were sent

  • Device status

📣 5. Important Tips

Alexa needs to hear clearly — speak close to the Echo device.

The monitored person doesn’t need to remember complicated phrases:
👉 just “Alexa, open LARA Assistant.”

The Echo should be placed in a room where the person spends most of their time (living room, bedroom…).

If anything seems off, restart the Echo by saying:
“Alexa, restart”
or unplugging it and plugging it back in.
